A press conference was held on April 10, 2006 in the Texas Tech University College of Education, announcing a new $400,000 collaborative grant project between the Texas Tech University College of Education and the Texas Tech Rawls College of Business. A panel of distinguished speakers discussed the project and its importance to the State of Texas, including current Texas Lt Governor David Dewhurst.
