This podcast features an interview with Dr. Nora Griffin-Shirley, director of the Virginia Murray Sowell Center for Research and Education in Visual Impairment housed here in the College of Education at Texas Tech University. Dr. Griffin-Shirley discusses the mission and service roles of the Sowell Center, the unique relationship it has with the Texas School for the Blind as well as other institutions nationwide, and the vital importance of educating a new generation of teachers able to effectively instruct and serve students with visual impairments.
